A complete health food store and cafe is new to the business community in Bartlesville this summer. Jude's Health & Java
House opened last month at 2503 S. Washington Blvd. next to Food Pyramid.
The new store offers a complete line of supplements,
health foods, organic groceries, oriental massage and a full cafe with a drive thru window, serving specialty coffees, fresh fruit
smoothies and healthful lunch and dinner items.
According to store own, Jude Henry, the idea behind creating the store was to offer
Bartians a unique, complete health store concept. "I've had the dream to develop this concept since I first opened my store
nine years ago. You have to start somewhere, and over the years we gradually made progress towards the finished product which
is now Jude's Health & Java House," said Henry. Henry, who has a Bachelor's degree in health and nutrition, has been working
the health industry for more than 10 years. His first store, Jude's For Your Health, opened in August of 1996. During
that time Henry developed a local clientele, and began work on his new store concept.
"I have always believed in Bartlesville and wanted
to provide this community with the highest level of nutritional supplements, grocery, and a coffee house and cafe. The new store
incorporates all these different aspects," said Henry. "We offer not only a full line of whole good grocery items, but we now
offer oganic produce, organic never-frozen meats, as well as an extensive line of wheat-free gluten-free products. We have now
become Bartlesville's true complete health food store."
In addition to the health store, Jude's Health & Java House offers
the community a full cafe experience. Jude's cafe, complete with a drive-thru window, offers a full line of specialty coffees
made with organic, fresh roasted beans, a selection of fresh squeezed juices as well as "truly healthy" smoothies made from 100 percent
fruit, with no added sugars or corn syrup.
"We really wanted to provide a fresh and delicious lunch and dinner menu at our new
store," said Henry. "When people come in to relax and eat they can choose from a selection of healthful soups, grilled panini
sandwiches liked the Grilled Tuscany or Jude's Vegetable Delight, delicious fresh salads like the Chicken Fiesta or the Berry Good
with seasonal berries and feta cheese. We even have fresh rolled, authentic Sushi every Friday on Sushi Fridays."
Jude's store
offers oriental massage therapy by appointment. Massage Therapist Michiyo provides acupuncture, aromatherapy and anma, as well
as a variety of massage techniques including Japanese shiatsu, Swedish, deep tissue and hot stone massage.
